Back, but not in black!

Oh my! Time passes like no tomorrow! I am now back from my adventure in Spain and summer break is over. I am going to be posting some new drawings soon!

I’ve started school again - my final year at OCAD. As nervous as I was my first day of thesis things have turned for the better for me :)

I have received some luck and have gotten a wonderful professor for thesis and am ( in my opinion) the best studio space there is in the school. ( It has SKY LIGHTS! yay!)

I look forward to the things I am going to be producing this year. I am still developing my own style and experimenting with new mediums, this year will be very interesting. Many pieces of art work are going to be produced as I will be spending the next 8 months studying identity. I want to look at how everyone evolves and changes in their own way, in order to become the person they want to be. I am going to be reading psychology books, journals, and looking at history books. I am very interested in covering how people would hide their identities in the past in order to become thing else as well. Rembrandt's self portraits are a great example. Two points in his life, before he started painting professionally and near the end of his life when his family had passed away and he was broke he did two self portraits clearly describing how strong he is and how much pride he still has in himself. In these portraits he is wearing expensive clothing and portraying himself as someone successful.

Something else I am excited to read about is about men and women who would pretend to be the opposite sex in order to do something that they are passionate about. This will of course include Shakespeare and his actors.

Stay tuned. This is going to be a crazy ride and you never know how this will look by the end. J

And we’ll hope my writing will improve by then too.
